Dubai: Demand for tickets to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 has crossed one million applications within three days of the ballot opening, the ICC announced on October 6.
More than 320,000 fans registered for the ticket ballot after it opened on October 1, 2026, submitting applications for over 1.1 million tickets for the tournament to be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia from October 2 to November 21, 2027. The ballot remains open until November 21, 2026.
India-Pakistan the biggest draw
The India-Pakistan group-stage fixture on October 10 has attracted the strongest demand with more than 110,000 applications. South Africa’s match against India has drawn over 92,000 applications, while India vs Australia has received more than 86,000.
The pre-seeded Super 7 meeting between India (A1) and Pakistan (A3) on November 7 is the fourth most sought-after fixture with close to 78,000 applications, and the final – scheduled for November 21 at the Wanderers in Johannesburg – has already drawn nearly 69,000 applications.
Prices and how to apply
Fans can register for the ballot on the ICC’s official ticketing website. Ticket prices range from USD 9.62 (R158) for entry-level tickets to USD 31.31 (R514) for the highest-tier matches. The ICC has also announced family bundles, student and pensioner pricing, early-bird allocations for local fans, and pricing for community clubs and school groups.
“Africa’s moment to shine”
ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta said the response demonstrated the tournament’s stature: “One million ticket applications in just over 48 hours of opening the ticket ballot is a demonstration of the attention, stature and affiliation for ICC Cricket World Cup 2027. This is also Africa’s moment to shine as an ICC marquee men’s event is returning to the continent after two decades.”
The 2027 edition will be the 14th Men’s Cricket World Cup and the first to be staged in Africa since the 2003 tournament in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Kenya. It will feature 14 teams across the three host nations.
How it compares to 2019
The early pace of demand is striking. The 2019 World Cup in England and Wales received over 2.5 million ticket applications across two ballot phases, with India vs Pakistan the most popular fixture – drawing enough applications to fill Wembley Stadium several times over. The 2027 ballot has crossed a million applications in its opening weekend alone, with the ballot still open until November 21, 2026.
What’s next
Fans who registered in the ballot will be notified whether their applications were successful, with remaining tickets expected to go on general sale after the ballot closes. With the India-Pakistan group fixture already past 110,000 applications and the final nearing 69,000, the most in-demand matches are likely to be heavily oversubscribed across all price bands.
